Gnana Deepam Matriculation school is a prominent school at Agastheeswaram. Vaalkulam is the major water body here which is located at the West of Agastheeswaram.

Etymology

Agastheeswaram has been named after the powerful sage Agasthya. It is believed that the sage had visited this place and had taught Ramayana to the people here.
