Aathi Adaikalam Katha Amman Temple
Arulmigu Aathi Adaikalam Katha Amman Temple is located at Nattathi, Srivaikundam Taluk, Thoothukkudi District, Tamil Nadu. This temple had been devoted to Goddess Aathi Adaikalam Katha Amman. Nattathi Nadar worshipped Aathi Adaikalam Katha Ammaiyar Amman for over 500 years and it is their (poorviga aalayam) ancestral temple. No statue was found at the main shrine. Oli Vali Valipaadu was performed to the goddess. This valipaadu (worship) indicates Light is God. 64 Peedams found within the temple premises which signifies 64 branches of Nattathi Nadars. The peedams are enlightened during Karthigai month. V. Ganapathi Sthapathi who had Valluvar statue at Kanyakumari had also constructed this temple. Maha Kumbabishekam was performed on 24.01.1999. Several persons gave donations for the construction. Lord Vinayagar has a separate shrine and is worshipped as Adaikalam Katha Vinayagar.
